Arriving in Armenia - driving through the highlands
One government building at the French Square
just so you know that we are not luying: its is HOT!
a young dancing crowd in Yerewan are practicing traditional dances - quite complicated so we decided to watch :-)
Well.. a classic, some people need to compensate :-)
Artwork in a square in Yerewan
Artwork in in a square in Yerewan
And on the 7th day...
This is one of the biggest churches in Yerewan..and the first one we have ever seen that was closed :-)
Armenia is changing..
Some people use a room for their stock others their car :-)
At one of the many squares downtown. In the back there is one bar next to the other.. nice :-)
the other side of Yerewan, the Soviet era is still present
Among other things, Armenia is very famous for Cognac
who wants to drink a shot with us?
Reminds you of your childhood, doesnt it?
Armenian Hummer :-)
This swan is diving for a watermelon
I think he bent down too often...
Martin fullfills his childhood dream, taking the big wheel in Yerevan
Giant wheel in the amusement park in Yerevan
Celebrating the water day on the day of departure...nice tradition :-)
Oh yeah, take off that shirt man!
nobody gets spared - water for everyone
Who didn´t want to get wet had to hide...those guys made it up to the roof :-)
Sevan lake makes Martin think... I think
Clear water and 4 feed - nice :)
Yes, you can call me superman
Our new armenian friend asked Sebastian to take a picture under water
Testing with the finger if its not too cold...
Audience, pay attention: this is a half salto :-)
...and up he goes :-)
Martin doing a sea gull..while the sea gull is watching thinking what the fuck is going on here :-)
As Martin is the incarantion of the seagull I go for the
One of rana\'s favorite figures. Shown in close to perfection.
loosing my head while performing the risky world famous quatriple rana special jump
Martin can´t decide what jump to make..
Martin thinking again..
beautiful lake Sevan...its at 1.900m btw!
Ancient church Sevanavank at the lake Sevan
Beautiful scenery on the road from lake Sevan to Nagorno-Karabagh
View from the top of the mountain pass at 2.400m
Meeting some workers on the top of the mountain pass
Crossing the mountains from lake Sevan to Nagorno-Karabagh
Driving through untouched nature on the way to Nagorno-Karabagh...
Mountains as far as you can see
except for the road of course :-)
It couldn´t have been better! Well... the road could have :-)
After driving on our own through this seemingly untouched nature we finally meet people again
A future KTM driver
Sebas couldn´t have been happier - finally food :-)
And on we go to Stepanakert...
...until Sebas finds a river just 3 minutes later
The beautiful cathedral Gandzasar on top of a mountain
We continue to Stepanakert and as usual...
...at night :-)
In Stepanakert Martin is shaken by horror as he realizes..
...that there will be soon no beer for quite some time
That reminds me that we have to do our laundry soon
Cool, in Nagorno Karabagh you can still pay in Schillings :-)
Nagorno-Karabagh, a paradise for every biker: curves,..
...curves,..
...curves,..
...curves,..
and curves :-) soon after we reach the border and up it goes back to the...
...highlands of Armenia
Looking back to the green mountains of Nagorno-Karabagh
This thing we would have needed in Georgia going to the lake :-)
On our way to the Iranian border
On our way to the Iranian border.. as usual it´s getting dark again
...so we enjoy the sunset
On our way to the Iranian border
On our way to the Iranian border
Taking a beautiful road to the border of Iran..again we are on our own
As we get closer to Iran there are still mountains but the scenery changes completely
Ok, lets see whos faster :-)
404
...while Eugenie is Boteros Mona Lisa and... The mosques on the square are beautiful, blue mosaics all over... Thanks good I made it out again, my legs hurt quite a bit when I went in, brrrr Taking pictures while driving - I am not sure if its a smart thing to do but I am lovin it! and gave us two peaches for free - very good ones btw Nevertheless, every step gets harder and harder Mountain plateau after the Tanglang La last group picture with these nice people! ...where a one-day hunger strike was going on to protest against the surpression of Tibet by China
